Alleged KZN robber returns to the scene

A SUSPECT who allegedly robbed a KwaZulu-Natal service station before returning to buy fuel has been arrested.

Police spokespers­on Brigadier Jay Naicker said: “An employee was performing his duties when an unknown man pointed at him with an object which resembled a firearm.

“The suspect stole an undisclose­d amount of cash before fleeing in his getaway vehicle.”

While police were at the scene the 26-year-old suspect returned on foot, Naicker added. “He was positively identified by witnesses and was placed under arrest. A silicone gun and cash was also seized (at his residence).”

The suspect was due to appear in the Chatsworth Magistrate’s Court. |
