Man dies as car collides with truck

A CAR driver was killed and a motorcyclist seriously injured in two separate accidents in Mpumalanga and Gauteng on Saturday, paramedics said.

A 25-year-old man died in a collision between a truck and his vehicle on the R36 Breyten road in Ermelo in Mpumalanga, ER24 spokesperson Ineke van Huyssteen said.

When paramedics arrived at the scene shortly before 3pm, they found a vehicle off the road with the driver inside. He was declared dead. The driver of the truck was not hurt.

A motorcyclist, believed to be in his 50s, was seriously injured in a collision with a car on the R42 Barrage road in Vanderbijlpark in Gauteng, Van Huyssteen said. |
