A letter from my lips to God’s ears…

WOULDN’T this be a wonderful message from our president?

“Fellow South Africans. I would like to thank you all for being so supportive of all our lockdown endeavours and rules, issued to protect all your lives from this Covid-19 pandemic.

“Our combined effort has given us the opportunity to control, and heal hot spots in our country, and ensure good recovery rates.

“Now, it is time to give you back your responsible freedom to return to your normal lives again.

“From August 15, all businesses, including the sales of alcohol and tobacco, may reopen. Interprovincial travel and tourism may resume, and all schoolchildren will return to their school timetables as gazetted.

“For our country’s safety, international tourism travel will still be prohibited until further notice.

“We do ask you to continue protecting yourselves from contagion by sanitising and using masks out in public for each other’s safety. All businesses are required to do the same.

“The prohibition of driving on all roads between 10pm and 4am, will remain to prevent a rise in alcoholrelated accidents.

“Doing this, our government can concentrate on spending our resources on improving health services, hospitals and all emergency staff.

“Also, to build more houses, and schools for the needy, with proper healthy facilities and sanitation.

“Obviously, this is only going to work with your full co-operation, enthusiasm and diligence, instead of lawlessness. Our government will work hard to track down, root out, and eliminate corruption.

“We will all continue personally, and together, to fight this pandemic, to the best of our ability, to ensure that each one of us, is among the survivors.

“It is in your responsible hands to ensure that we win this battle in the long run ahead.

“God bless South Africa, and all its wonderful and caring people!”
