Mashaba’s new party is welcome

- EV RAPITI | KENWYN

IT WAS refreshing to read that a new political party, ActionSA headed by ex-Joburg mayor, Herman Mashaba, has been formed. Vygie Mentor and ex-ANC member Dr Khoza are amongst the people behind the formation of the party.

The latter have made their mark in the lives of South Africans, for their valiant stand against corruption in their party and for standing up to the once invincible and Gupta loving, Jacob Zuma.

The country needs a party with honest politicians. A number of ANC MPs wanted to join the new party, in the hope of getting senior positions but it will have nothing to do with them.

The country is ripe for a total new party with no connections to the Struggle to take on a corrupt and disunited ANC.

Independent small parties are a waste of time. If we wish to be successful as a country, we need to be united and non-racial.

We need to lead the way in Africa for clean governance.

Our president is not the leader of the country because he is constantly being threatened by the faction opposed to him because of his drive to remove the corrupt in his party.

We have no opposition party. Malema is the EFF and the EFF is Malema. The rest of his members are hangers-on.

Malema has long reached his sell by date after Zuma resigned. The DA is in shambles, thanks to Zille’s inane tweets. The “Good” party is good for nothing, now that its leader is a minister.

The ANC’s power over its president makes him a puppet.

I would much rather put my money on a party that appoints ministers on merit and will deal with corruption decisively.

We need politicians who are accountable to the public, not to a party. Our president must be elected by the people, not a party.

South Africa is dying because of government corruption and not due to a lack of resources or a lack of honest and decent leaders.
