Woman stabbed to death on M5 – husband a suspect

A 35-YEAR-OLD woman from Parkwood was stabbed to death allegedly by her husband while she was driving with him and their child on the M5 yesterday.

Ward councillor William Akim identified the mother as Miche Samuels. The couple had three children.

According to sources, the couple had been married for seven years, but there had been talk of divorce.

Police spokespers­on FC van Wyk said: “Wynberg police are investigat­ing a murder case after a stabbing incident this morning (Thursday) in Ottery Road, Wynberg, where a 35-yearold woman was stabbed and fatally wounded.

“A 39-year-old suspect was arrested on a charge of murder.

“This incident also led to an accident involving another vehicle.”

A witness at the scene, who did not want to be identified, who accidental­ly drove into the back of the car in which the incident occurred, said: “I was approachin­g from Wynberg, going to Ottery, when the red vehicle in front of me all of a sudden slowed down and stopped dead in the road. I tried to avoid it and couldn’t, and then someone jumped out of the car.”

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Forensic Pathology Services spokespers­on Deanna Bessick said the EMS received a call about an incident on Ottery Road at the M5 turn-off, in the direction of Ottery, at 10.40am.

“The call was reported as a motor vehicle accident which involved two vehicles. Upon arrival, the paramedics found a woman who had been stabbed. Unfortunat­ely, the patient was deceased when the paramedics arrived at the scene,” she said.
