Time is ripe for workers of SA to stand up and unite - only our chains continue to bind us

-

WE call on all workers to unite, irrespective of union affiliation, to form grassroots strike committees that are accountable to prevent the chaotic and violent strikes that we’ve seen around our country. Workers must not fight each other while the bosses laugh all the way to the bank.

Today we have tripartite alliance leaders in the Cabinet who have portrayed themselves as champions of the poor and working class but who live in opulence. These so-called pro-poor hypocrites drive millionrand cars and stay in the most expensive hotels and in world-class leafy suburbs in the land.

During election time Cosatu and the SACP perpetuate the myth of a pro-poor ANC notwithstanding all evidence to the contrary. After elections they complain and talk of a ’predatory state’ and ’hyenas’ – it is not the state that is predatory, it is the ruling elite.

It is Cosatu and the SACP who continue to DECEIVE the public to vote for an ANC which has since the Arms Deal of 1999 been characterised by self-enrichment.

This is a wake-up call for all the workers! We must go out to our communities, our families and friends and tell what is really going on. In order for us to make a change, we must go out and create awareness and educate our fellow workers about the reality: corruption is alive and well and the workers are paying the heavy price.

Workers must ask themselves: How much longer will they allow this situation to continue? How much longer do they want to suffer?

We must reject the economic exploitation of the many for the benefit of the few. We accept as a policy the equitable distribution of wealth aiming, as far we are concerned, at equality of income which to me is the only basis on which the slogan “EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES” can be founded.

HOW LONG SHALL WE ROT PHYSICALLY, SPIRITUALLY AND MORALLY EMATYOTYOMBENI

'KODWA SIYASEBENZA?

HOW LONG SHALL WE STARVE AMIDST PLENTY IN OUR FATHERLAND? HOW LONG SHALL WE BE A VALUELESS MILLION IN OUR FATHERLAND?

WORKERS OF SOUTH AFRICA UNITE!!! WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BUT OUR CHAINS THAT CONTINUE TO BIND US FOR 27 YEARS IN OUR DEMOCRACY.
