Guide to navigating the virtual Investec Cape Town Art Fair

The Covid-19 pandemic pandemic has inspired the creative industry to find innovative ways to reach their audiences from anywhere around the world.

To make the most of your experience at the upcoming Investec Cape Town Art Fair event, which is being held virtually, we have compiled easy steps for you to access it from the comfort of your couch.

1. Go to investeccapetownartfair.co.za site, on the top of the home page, click on the enter button which will take you to the digital event site.

2. Register by including your name, surname and email address – you can now login.

3. You are now on the homepage where you will see a list of galleries, click on the galleries to see artists and artworks and listed events.

4. Enjoy navigating and exploring through the site, focus section and insights by the artists and field experts, interesting speakers and videos and highlights.

Laura Vincenti, director of the art fair, explains: “There is a transformation happening in the art world. The first Investec Cape Town Art Fair Digital Event gives us an opportunity to showcase South African artists whilst continuing to connect with international galleries, businesses, media and creatives.

“While we still firmly believe that a digital event cannot replace the transformative nature of an in person art experience, the digital event has accelerated our commitment to providing the best service to our galleries, artists, VIPs and visitors.”

She adds: “The new world has developed a stronger taste for online and the ease of access it brings. Creatives have approached the space differently with some spaces being created with digital natives at the core.

“And the world is embracing this change and lockdowns around the world have created new ways of thinking about digital fairs and opportunities it brings to scale to new audiences and for its ability to link e-commerce fulfilment to requests provided by art enthusiasts.”
