THE Oppenheimer family, businessman Martin Moshal and Naspers donated over R30 million to ActionSA and the DA ahead of this year’s local government elections. The Electoral Commission of SA (IEC) said that Rebecca Oppenheimer contributed R3.3m, and Victoria Freudenheim R3.3m and Jessica Slack-Jell R3.3m to ActionSA, while Moshal contributed R5m. He also gave the DA R15m while Naspers gave it R1m. African Rainbow Minerals, owned by Patrice Motsepe, gave the ANC R5.8m, while party president Cyril Ramaphosa contributed R366 000 to the party. |
