Beauty-driven podcasts you’ll want to check out

- GERRY CUPIDO geraldine.cupido@inl.co.za

“I’M too busy to …” Is something we say or hear every day. Time is something we often have too little of, especially when we have too much to do.

To cram more activities into those few precious hours, we have become great multitaskers. While “they” say women are more successful at it than men, I choose to believe that anyone who really wants to, can do it.

Podcasts have become a great form of entertainment or escapism and one can even find them educational and a great way to “do two things at once”.

From soothing background sounds to a host of shows, there’s a podcast for everyone – even for avid beauty lovers, whether you’re into make-up or simply curious about the latest in beauty and wellness.

Finding the perfect podcast for you obviously depends on what you’re looking to get out of it.

From amusing tales to history lessons, we found some beauty-driven

channels you’ll want to check out. The Goop Podcast

Goop’s eponymous podcast, hosted by founder Gwyneth Paltrow and chief content officer Elise Loehnen, is a source of thought-provoking conversation around beauty, health, fitness, and mindfulness. Special episodes include an interview with psychiatrist James Gordon, MD, author of The Transformation, about how to deal with prolonged stress, and one with family counsellor Kim John Payne on how to help children adjust to the new normal.

Fat Mascara

Fat Mascara hosts Jessica Matlin and Jennifer Goldstein share their expertise as beauty editors to discuss industry news, must-have products, and innovative new procedures. Breaking Beauty

Hosts Jill Dunn and Carlene Higgins have made it their mission to spotlight and emphasise the true breakthroughs of the industry. The Science of Beauty

Who better than Allure’s executive beauty director Jenny Bailly and senior beauty editor Dianna Mazzone to get into the nitty-gritty of all you’ve ever wanted to know about hair, make-up, and skin care? To make things as accessible and digestible as possible, each episode of The Science of Beauty is dedicated to a specific topic, such as sunscreen, hyperpigmentation, or curls, and features the expertise of some of the industry’s most trusted and celebrated voices in that category.

Gloss Angeles

Offering their esteemed beauty editor lens to the industry, LA-based Gloss Angeles hosts Kirbie Johnson and Sara Tan discuss hot button topics across beauty and pop culture, and preview the latest launches.

The Naked Beauty Podcast

As host of The Naked Beauty Podcast, Brooke DeVard Ozaydinli takes a personal approach to talking through beauty trends, self-care rituals and general wellness, examining how beauty is inextricably linked to culture and identity. This sense of candour extends to her coterie of guests, which run the gamut from Hannah Fallis Bronfman, DJ and founder of HBFIT, to Dr Chaneve Jeanniton, founder of Epi.logic skincare and oculofacial plastic surgeon.

Smell Ya Later
