Help find Lwandle’s most wanted suspects

- STAFF REPORTER

THE police in Lwandle have resorted to asking the public for help in tracing the 10 most wanted criminal suspects charged with offences ranging from murder to rape to robberies.

They said the majority of the suspects had been apprehended, some appearing in court where they were released on bail, then disappeared.

Spokesperson Frederick van Wyk said: “Lwandle police detectives are seeking the assistance of the public to locate the wanted suspects to solve their cases in Lwandle.”

Khanyisani Shushu is wanted in connection with a murder case that occurred on November 30, 2018, in Overwacht Road, Lwandle.

Police said Shushu allegedly stabbed a 27-year-old man, from Nomzamo, who died at the scene. He was arrested. However, after he appeared in Strand Magistrate’s Court and was released on bail, he failed to appear in court again and a warrant for his arrest was issued.

Siyathemba Gonongo is wanted in connection with a murder that occurred on April 27, 2018 in Paliso Street, Asanda Village.

Police say Gonongo allegedly stabbed his victim multiple times.

Van Wyk said: “The suspect was arrested and appeared in Strand Magistrate’s Court, where he was released on bail, and disappeared. Strand Magistrate’s Court has issued a warrant of arrest for him.”

Other suspects include Abongile Makaleni, Mandlenkosi Hulani, Yonela Maliti, Sipho Bidli, Yonela Mbasa, Stanley Mutsvangi, Tellmore Gweyaa and Christopher Nyajeni. Nyajeni is wanted for a fraud case. It is alleged that the complainant lost his identity book between 2013 and 2014, and when he went to renew his motor vehicle licence on June 28, 2016, he was informed of five warrants of arrest issued in his name.

Van Wyk said: “The complainant found out he had four motor vehicles registered in his name, which he didn’t know about. He reported a fraud case to the police. The suspect was arrested and released later. He failed to appear again after he was granted bail. A warrant of arrest was issued by Strand Magistrate’s Court.”

Anyone with information on these suspects should contact Detective Sergeant Vernando Mitchelle on 082 522 1953 or 021 845 2060, or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or use the MySAPSApp.
