If only blacks were like pets, then whites the world over would adore them

-

FROM the perspective of a black person, generally, white people appear to be great animal lovers.

On TV documentaries and other visual platforms that show wildlife, black people can see white people show extraordinary care for animals, injecting the creatures with all sorts of things, taking them to labs to do experiments and feeding them.

Then, of course, to the horror of many conservative black people, white people can keep snakes and wild cats or reptiles as pets because they are the greatest lovers of animals.

And white women, in particular, seem to have a deep affection for “vulnerable” animals as they often volunteer in animal shelters and become vets or animal doctors.

And in the movies, if a boyfriend dumps a white woman or something brings sadness, she can weep together with her dog or pet, and I wonder if it happens in real life.

Certainly, we have seen that whenever there is a protest about the environment and animal rights, very few black people usually show up, and instead they can be seen in their majority at the nearest braai station.

So we can conclude that white people care for animals in a way that seems greater than in the case of other races, especially Africans.

But is it love or the love of the power over animals? Let us not forget that the animals cannot protest or demand equality from their master.

I would like to think that the so-called love of animals is truly the ability to do whatever one wishes with the animals of God, and the animal will never say or do anything.

The same people who claim to love animals usually cannot love a fellow human being, only because of their different skin pigmentation.

But I suppose that if black people were to humble themselves and be obedient like “pets” to their white counterparts, then they would be adored by white people the world over.

Do not forget that the same lovers of nature and animals do not hesitate to “put down in a humane way” a problematic animal.

The truth of the matter is that no one can love any animal if they do not love as themselves another human being who looks different in appearance.

In reality, animals have become replacements for black slaves and servants or an extension of fulfilling this desire where blacks project themselves as equals.

If this is the case, we can conclude that in the eyes of white racists, black people are animals who think they are humans in the same way that black xenophobes would see fellow black Africans.

In any case, there is a fine line between adoration and abuse and people should not make boyfriends out of pets.

Animals are not there to fill voids and for human comfort at the expense of their freedom and will to explore nature.

However, many white people do care for the environment and animals and also love their fellow humans as they adore themselves and that is good and adorable. KHOTSO KD MOLEKO | Mangaung
