ORIGINAL works by 10 top South African artists will go under the hammer when 14 acclaimed chefs team up with seven sommeliers and celebrity performers at Chefs Who Share – the art of giving – a gala evening in aid of youth development in the City Hall on September 5.
Participating chefs include Margot Janse, David Higgs, Bertus Basson, Peter Tempelhoff, Rudi Liebenberg, Christiaan Campbell, Jackie Cameron, Reuben Riffel, Darren Badenhorst, Chris Erasmus, Harald Bresselschmidt, Chantel Dartnell, Marthinus Ferreira and George Jardine.
It will be an evening of glamour, culinary artistry and fine art, with proceeds from the auction of original pieces donated by the artists, going towards Mad Charity (Make A Difference) and Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.
Co-founder of the Laureus World Sports Awards and Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, Iain Banner, will be the auctioneer on the evening.
The auction will include works by Lionel Smit, Anton Smith, Louis Jansen van Vuuren, Jean Doyle, Heike Allerton-Davies, Dylan Lewis, Jacqueline Crewe-Brown, Ryan Hewett, Anthea Delmotte and Russell Travers.
Chefs Who Share gives guests the opportunity to meet some of the country’s finest chefs, sommeliers and artists for an evening. – Arts Writer
