RAY DONOVAN

M-Net, Tuesday at 9.30pm

This is the one M-Net really wants you to watch. So much so that they had a special preview last night. I can’t recall that happening before. Liev Schreiber stars in the title role, playing a “fixer” – the goto guy for the rich and famous when they have a problem. The complication comes in the form of his father (played by Jon Voight) who is released from prison early and is back to make Ray pay for allegedly framing him. It was one of the magic six selected for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Most Exciting New Series. I’ve mentioned this award before, so what are the other five? The Bridge (brilliant – Fox Crime, Fridays at 8.30pm), Under The Dome (M-Net, Tuesdays at 8.30pm), Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. premieres in the US in September, Masters of Sex (in production, premiering in September), and The Michael J Fox Show (also end of September).

NURSE JACKIE

M-Net, Tuesday at 10.30pm

Oh Jackie! You’re back! Things ended badly for you in season three, with Kevin admitting to cheating, Fiona playing with matches, and dodging a drug-test bullet.

When there’s a death in her home, Jackie decides to go to rehab. That thing about hell hath no fury like a woman scorned?

Eddie is even worse: he is going to cause even more trouble between Jackie and Kevin.

And this season we welcome Mike Cruz, played by Bobby Cannavale (Will’s boyfriend in Will & Grace, and Gyp Rosetti in Boardwalk Empire).

 ?? Nurse Jackie ?? PULSE:
is back for a fourth season on M-Net, Tuesday at 10.30pm.
