Remain resolute

- SACP Western Cape Provincial Spokesperson

THE SA Communist Party (SACP) in the Western Cape joins millions of South Africans in wishing its reliable ally the ANC congratulations on 103 years of pursuing the liberation of the people of this country, workers and the poor in particular.

As the SACP in the Western Cape, we are delighted to celebrate the 103 years of unparalleled commitment to emancipating the people of our country. We further thank the ANC for choosing the Western Cape to celebrate this great milestone.

While the party celebrates the ANC’s 103 years of existence, we are reminded that the working class in the province remain socially and economically enslaved by the chains of the repressive, neo-liberal DA Western Cape government, the offspring of Verwoerdian and Malanian policy.

The momentous 103rd anniversary celebration must be used as a clarion call and turning point to alter political power in the Western Cape, and return the ANC to its rightful seat in government. The DA’s failure to address service delivery issues facing our working-class communities over the years, negligently governing this province, has resulted in fluctuating matric results, an open unwillingness to build houses, a racial divide-andconquer tactic of African and coloured communities, and the constant flow of raw sewage through the streets of our communities.

Despite some hostilities and an inflated stadium price, we thank the ANC for remaining resolute in celebrating its 103rd anniversary with the working class of the Western Cape. Masonwabe Sokoyi
