ANC failures to blame

-

CAPE TOWN and the Western Cape may be islands of excellence when it comes to governance and service delivery, but they aren’t islands apart from South Africa.

Barry James Mitchell, of the SACP, appears to believe that the Western Cape is an independent country though, with total control over the economy, the police, the courts and housing. Why else would he seek to blame the Western Cape government for service delivery protests about those issues?

The Western Cape is as much a part of South Africa as any of the other provinces and is subject to the effects of national government failures just like anywhere else in the country.

These failures by the ANC are compounded by provinces and municipalities run by the ANC.

It cannot be regarded as arrogance to point out that the DA-led City of Cape Town and the Western Cape provincial government are regarded by the ANC-led national government itself as the best run metro and province respectively, but is testimony to Helen Zille and her colleagues’ efforts to effectively tackle the challenges we face as a nation, in spite of national government failures.

It is for this reason that the Western Cape has the largest slice of foreign direct investment, creates more jobs, spends more on infrastructure and maintenance, and outperforms the other provinces in terms of governance and service delivery.

We know all about the ANC’s failures, and the DA has shown time and again that it delivers to all the people, even in the face of the massive problems created by an arrogant, out-of-touch ANC who is more interested in building palatial homes for one man rather than improving the lives of the people.
