GOURMET GIGGLES

Comedian CHRIS FORREST, recent winner of this year’s has teamed up with judge Pete Goffe-Wood in a feast of fun and food called He speaks about the production

-

Lewis was going to whup your ass? The entire series… Back to business – how did you and Pete go about putting the show together?

We’ve been working on it every time one of us is in the other’s city. We came up with the concept, did a couple of trial cooking runs, and the script practically wrote itself.

Since winning Celebrity Masterchef, have you felt a lot of pressure to perform for family and friends in the kitchen – or did you do this before, anyway?

A fair bit, but I quite enjoy cooking now, so I’m always trying new things and getting people to try them and tell me what they think

Apparently you’ll be taking Don’t Burn Your Sausage to the National Arts Festival. We don’t think that’s been done before, intermingling chef and comedian skills. A first, you reckon? As far as I know… We’ve done it at a few corporate shows and people have loved it, so hopefully it goes down as well in Grahamstown.

Apart from cooking up a storm on TV, what have you been up to this year?

I’ve just finished doing a run of my one man show Who’s your Daddy? in Durban and Joburg.

What was the last live show you saw, and how did you find it?

Lol, it was actually The Jungle Book at The People’s Theatre. It was a kiddie’s production that we took my daughter to see, and it was really good, but watching her loving it was the best part.

What do you like to do to relax?

Spend time with my family, otherwise I like cycling, I ride for four to eight hours a week.

Don’t Burn Your Sausage is at the Hout Bay Market on June 18, www.quicket.co.za
