Why no indicators?

- Bergvliet

I WOULDlike to appeal to my fellow Capetonians to help me understand why the majority of you do not use your car indicators.

Is it because the indicator lever is not situated conveniently enough for you?

Or perhaps because there is not a free hand, as one hand is on the steering wheel and the other is holding your phone against your ear?

Or is it because the conversation you are having with your passenger is far more important than the act of driving your car?

I really would like to know, because I am fed up with almost crashing into people all the time because they didn’t indicate, and with sitting at an intersection watching one car after another turn without indicating.

It isn’t rocket science, people! You indicate when you turn into a different road, you indicate when you change lanes, you indicate when you go around a traffic circle, you indicate when you merge on to a freeway. It’s easy. But you don’t do it and I would love to know why! Tristan Deveraux
