Effort appreciated

A BIG “thank you” to Ms Davids and Ms Valley at Wynberg Home Affairs.

I had to organise to get certain documents from them recently. Ms Davids contacted me on receipt of my application to let me know that there were certain items missing, and asking me to meet her to rectify the situation.

On Friday I went to collect the documents, and I watched first as she assisted a very frustrated person, listened to him and advised him what to do next, and then received very grateful thanks from a couple for the assistance she had given them.

After that, Ms Valley went the extra mile for me and located other documents that I had applied for, so I was able to do everything in one visit.

It would be a pity to lose them at the counters, but maybe they should be given roles as mentors for others who still need to learn how to handle people – who can be very difficult when they are frustrated by what appears to be total inefficiency! Margaret Rundle
