July runners to stride out

-

ALL the runners for next Saturday's R3,5 million Gr1 Vodacom Durban July will be put through their paces at Greyville on Thursday morning.

A condition or entry for South Africa's premier horserace is participation in the traditional July Gallops where the big race contenders will gallop on their own or with a companion for the public to view their action and state of wellbeing.

The gallops start at 7am and will be timed. There will also be commentary on each performance.

Sticky buns, hot coffee

After the gallops a panel discussion will be held on-course featuring prominent racing personalities and to counter the early morning chill, sticky buns and hot coffee will be served free of charge for those attending.

For those unable to make it to the course the gallops will be televised live on Channel 236 on Dstv.

For those wishing to watch the gallops in more comfort, a special breakfast at R65 per head will be available in the Durban View Room on the morning.
