Discipline and professionalism are hallmarks

Mike Muller MD G4S Secure Solutions

-

MIKE MULLER, Managing director of G4S Secure Solutions had before he joined the company in 2003, risen to the rank of colonel in the South African Defence Force.

During this time he trained with the Israeli Defence Force which subsequently led to him rewriting our Armour Corps training manuals and an extensive upgrading of the division.

With that background it is not surprising to learn that his maxim is “a task not worth doing well, is not worth doing at all”. It is an adage he carries into his work and his personal life and one he brought into G4S when he first joined the company in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in 2003.

By mid-April this year, when he took up his present position, he’d also worked in Cameroon and had long aligned the company’s success with his own. Conceding that the South Africa operation is not an easy undertaking, he is nonetheless optimistic.

Mike explains that the G4S values are suitable, correct and appropriate for the business world, “If lived to the fullest it can only thrive.”

He adds: “Management leadership must set an example of disciplined and professional performance. The focus must be on sustainable customer satisfaction in the security environment.”

His corporate career with G4S is also characterised by success. During 2005, at the G4S International Conference in Cannes, his business unit, G4S DRC, was one of the winning nominees for the small business unit category.

G4S DRC received the trophy for best business unit in sub-Sahara Africa for the same year.

After relocating in 2006 and under Mike’s leadership, G4S Cameroon received numerous awards for exceptional business practices.

He describes himself as adventurous with a passion for life.

“I thrive on a challenge and I know that nothing is impossible with a dedicated and focused team alongside me. It is why G4S Secure Solutions in South Africa can only go from strength to strength.”

Mike’s home town is Bloemfontein where his wife, Audrey and son, Michael, reside. It is also where he oversees the G4S Care and Justice Service within South Africa.
