Man to appear over girls’ rapes
Two minor girls were raped in Rooigrond near Mahikeng, North West police said yesterday.
“It is alleged that a 20-year-old suspect asked the victims to accompany him to a tuck shop to buy sweets. He allegedly changed his way, and they ended up at a bush where he undressed and raped the victims,” said spokesperson Pelonomi Makau.
After the ordeal, the victims reported the matter to their families and were taken to hospital, where the rapes were confirmed. The suspect was traced and arrested. He was expected to appear in the Mahikeng Magistrate’s Court today.
