Driver arrested after two crashes
A truck driver ploughed into an accident scene in Durban on Saturday night, allegedly killing a tow-truck driver on the scene before the driver stole an ambulance and fled.
The fleeing driver was then involved in a high-speed collision and arrested by police who are investigating the incident.
Rescue Care spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said paramedics had attended to a scene where there were fortunately no injuries on the M7 Westbound at about 9pm on Saturday, before the fatal accident. The driver was arrested at the scene of the second accident after police followed the stolen ambulance.
