Bakkie crashes on N3, killing three

Three people died and several others were injured in a crash on the N3 at Hilton yesterdaymorning, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.

Reports from the scene indicated that a single-cab bakkie veered off the road for about 100m before hitting a tree, Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said.

Three people died after suffering extensive injuries. A further three, trapped in the bakkie’s twisted frame, suffered lifethreatening injuries, while about 24 other people suffered injuries ranging from serious to minor, Botha said.
