Pick the Bok team and be on live TV!

- Ashfak Mohamed

Cape Times will cover dialogues live on Twitter and in the newspaper

EVER thought you should pick the Springbok team for the Rugby World Cup starting in the UK this weekend?

Well, you could make your voice heard ahead of the Boks’ opening World Cup game against Japan in Brighton on Saturday. And be on live TV! The final of the threepart rugby dialogue series, #OurBoks2015, which is coordinated by Labyrinth Consulting and supported by Independent Media, takes place at the SABC studios in Sea Point tomorrow at 7pm, and it will be broadcast live on DStv channel 404.

The dialogues came about following controversy about the make-up of the Bok team and the lack of transformation in South African rugby after the defeat to Argentina in Durban last month.

The first two dialogues, which took place at Trafalgar High School in the City and in Heidelberg – the home town of new Bok scrumhalf Rudy Paige – over the last two weeks, focused on transformation in sport and merit selection respectively.

The theme of the final part of the series tomorrow will be “You choose the team”.

Bok coach Heyneke Meyer will be announcing his 23-man side for the Japan match tomorrow, but former coach Peter de Villiers, a local club coach and one audience member will pick their own teams, which will be debated during the dialogue tomorrow. Then the 150-strong audience will have the chance to vote for one of the teams, and the results will be announced on the night.

There will also be a discussion about the future of the Springbok team after the World Cup, with many veteran players such as captain Jean de Villiers and lock Victor Matfield retiring after the tournament.

The Cape Times will cover the dialogues live on Twitter and in the newspaper, and you can also be part of the conversation on Facebook (Cape Times), and on Twitter (@CapeTimesSA), with the hashtag #OurBoks2015.

We’re also offering five readers the chance to be part of the audience at tomorrow’s dialogue at the SABC studios.

All you have to do is post on Facebook or Twitter why you want to be there. Include the hashtag #OurBoks2015 and a contact number.
