15 years for killing girlfriend
A 27-year-old man has been sentenced to 15 years behind bars for murdering his girlfriend, Free State police said yesterday.
The incident happened in the small farming town of Koffiefontein in the Free State in October.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Zweli Mohobeleli said Stephen Blaar hit his 30-year-old girlfriend repeatedly “with an object on the head, crushing her skull”. This apparently followed a domestic dispute. The Koffiefontein Regional Court passed sentence last week. Mohobeleli praised detective constable Patrick Mafathasaid for his dedication.
