Oscar back in dock as case goes ahead after new conviction

-

Oscar Pistorius will briefly appear in the High Court in Pretoria today – this time as a convicted murderer.

This is so the case can formally be postponed until sometime next year for sentencing procedures.

Although trial Judge Thokozile Masipa will have to conduct the sentencing procedures, Pretoria Deputy Judge President Aubrey Ledwaba will formally postpone the matter today. He will also have to decide whether Pistorius should be released on bail.

It is further expected that the State and the defence will either call witnesses or obtain expert reports to present evidence in aggravation and mitigation of sentence.
