Parliamentary staff back at work
Parliamentary staff were back at work yesterday after the union’s leadership and Parliament’s presiding officer signed off on a pay deal.
“Parliament and Nehawu have signed an agreement over the weekend ending a month-long strike,” a legislature statement said. Nehawu parliamentary branch chairman Sthembiso Tembe confirmed the agreement, saying their demands over performance bonuses have been met. The union w said its leadership had reached a compromise with Parliament to ensure salary deductions for lost work days would be staggered.
