New school for Nomzamo pupils

More than 1 000 Western Cape pupils in Nomzamo near Strand settlement are set to start 2016 in a brand new school, Department of Transport and Public Works spokespers­on Byron la Hoe said yesterday

“The new ACJ Phakade Primary School in Nomzamo near Strand will open its doors in the 2016 academic year,” he said.

Commission­ed by the department for the province’s Education Department, constructi­on on the primary school began in January 2014. It cost R37 million and would be able to accommodat­e 1 250 pupils.
