Certified for second consecutive year
ADvTECH is certified as a Top Employer for the second consecutive year and is, according to senior HR manager Malcolm Montgomery, a leader in private education and placement.
He adds, “It is about people serving people – learners, students, candidates, clients and our own staff members.
“Based on our growth ambitions, financial resources along with the right blend of people and skills, are pivotal to our success.
“For this reason, we measure and value employee opinions through consistent participation in and tracking of Deloitte Best Company to Work For survey feedback.
“In like fashion, we have committed to interrogating our own policies, practices and processes by participating in the Top Employers Institute’s Certification programme where a healthy set of HR Best Practices are reviewed and validated through the preparing of a portfolio of evidence.
“For the ADvTECH HR team, this process has been an opportunity to reflect, to rethink and to revise our focus on our call to serve people.”
Feedback from the institute is received in the presence of the group’s executive committee and serves as a catalyst for the HR team’s strategic focus for the ensuing year.
The process incorporates a correlation of staff sentiment (solicited through the Deloitte BCTWF Survey) and the opinion of the Top Employers Institute’s panel of International HR Specialist.
This informs an action plan to address just three of the nine HR Best Practice topics over a nine month period by engaging with other Top Employers to learn as well as to teach and to share.
He elaborates, “The outcome is an agreed approach responding to four questions in each of the three identified HR Best Practice areas – what should we do more of / less of and what should we start / stop doing?
This is all aimed at realising a planned shift in ratings and recognition year on year so that people with the appropriate skills, knowledge and competencies are placed or advanced to the right roles to ensure the successful implementation of ADvTECH’s strategic intent.”
