Malema, the beast

-

MALEMA has been of late making so many contradictory statements which of late could be simply described as selfflagellation, or at worse self-mutilation.

He has been in the season of making so many statements that seek to ingratiate himself to the DA to an extent you would think he’s a spokesperson of the DA.

First, he made the most unfortunate statement whereby he was calling on the DA in the City of Johannesburg to “remove” all ANC employees.

What he does not understand is that firstly people employed in municipal or government positions as civil servants are employed in their own right. There is no colour printing on the forehead which identifies which party an employee belongs to. On the other hand, what he should bear in mind is that what he calls for is no different from McCarthyism which if his call is implemented will not only undermine the cohesion in our country, but may do more harm to his call than the benefit to him or his party.

But perhaps the worst demonstration of his poverty of decency and sobriety is when he vaunts that his party will vote DA come 2019.

Firstly, he has already voted DA already in many municipalities and the glee in the screens when they did so was there to be seen by all and sundry. Of course he did so because of the nonconventional marriage between the DA and EFF because neither of them could on their own control any the metros.

The pathological hatred of the ANC by Malema is not surprising. He has been dancing and singing in the ANC and perhaps his longing for the great days in the ANC reinforces his hatred. But a word.

Of course he in particular has pathological hatred of the ANC for obvious reasons. What is clear to me is that the weakest link in the EFF is Malema. He has what one can call poverty of wisdom and sophistication. Bellowing and rudeness is never a sign of leadership. The call he is making that he will vote DA in 2019 must be celebrated by progressive forces because it dramatically exposes once and fall strange bed fellows that were hiding under the table.
