SOUTH Africa imported 113 040 tons of yellow maize in the week to March 10, the SA Grain Information Service said on its website yesterday.

The country bought 77 246 tons from Ukraine and 35 794 tons from the US.

South Africa exported 4 185 tons of yellow maize to neighbouring countries.

There were no imports of white maize, while 11 316 tons were exported to neighbouring countries.

The country imported 33 699 tons of wheat from Germany, and exported 1 540 tons of the grain to neighbouring countries. – Bloomberg
