Seven life terms for N Cape rapist

The Northern Cape High Court sentenced a man to seven life sentences and 373 years in prison for rape, attempted rape and assault.

Police spokesperson Captain Sergio Kock said Christopher Julies was found guilty on 34 charges.

The rapes were perpetrated in various areas in the Northern Cape from August 2011 until February 2015.

“The last offences were committed about a month before his arrest . The accused raped all the victims, targeting them in isolated areas, and threatened to kill them, beat them up and forcefully penetrated them without their consent,” Kock said.

Julies’s victims were aged from 13 to 23 years old.
