Contract boost for growth strategy

BUILDMAX, the listed-opencast mining contractor and building materials supplier, has been awarded a contract worth more than R500 million to provide opencast mining services to Anglo American Inyosi Coal. The company said yesterday that the contract had been awarded to its wholly owned subsidiary Diesel Power Opencast Mining, and the contract related to the Ogiesfontein Reserve at the Zibulo Colliery. It said the contract would commence on Saturday and was for a duration of 36 months. Buildmax added that the contract value included plant and funding costs.The company said it was delighted with the award of this contract because it aligned with Buildmax’s growth strategy and ensured continued employment for the local Ogies community. – Roy Cokayne
