Local rap group Die Antwoord has come under fire for using a traditional Xhosa initiation blanket as part of their attire on their newly released self-titled album. Die Antwoord was formed by rappers Ninja and Yolandi Visser and producer “God” (formerly DJ Hi-Tek). They arrived on the music scene in 2008, maintaining a strong profile with a steadily growing fan base. Their image is based on a counter-culture movement known as Zef.
