A cosmetic cover-up

AS USUAL, Women’s Day is a cosmetic cover-up for women. What women need is upliftment.

Look at our deputy minister of education, attacking a woman, shown on a video clip, has he been suspended? Of course not. He is important, the victim not. There is talk of closing down maintenance courts, there are not enough crèches or after-school care centres for children so that mothers can go to work with peace of mind.

Women need skills training or at least to be told how much they are worth. The practical list is endless. Rallies and speeches are easier, it’s taxpayers money wasted after all. Anna Maria Delle Donne Sea Point
