IT’S been a big week for South African fashion. It’s been an even bigger week for the socially conscious fashion movement. And it’s been the biggest week for two of the country’s foremost conscious fashion brands.

We’re talking about the launch of the new Magents and WearSA retail stores in Menlyn Park, Pretoria, the heart of the Tshwane fashion scene.

Other WearSA brands include: Democracy of Denim, 1994, Magents and bluecollarwhitecollar.

The store, however, also stocks an exciting selection of other local fashion brands, including 2Bop, Anthony Smith, Glenn Adendorff, Granadilla Swimwear, Grizzly Beard Co, Lorne.

Menlyn Park is Magents’ third retail store and fans of this urban street-wear brand can look forward to more original and exciting apparel and accessories in the label’s characteristically colourful style.

T-shirts, sweatpants, denims, chinos, shoes and hoodies make a multicoloured statement.

More than just men’s fashion, Magents is a celebration of style and street wear. It’s ultimately about people and a creative exploration of the question: “Who am I?”

Often described as “premium street wear with a touch of Afro-vintage”, the brand believes that the fashion stories of our time are told on the streets.

The opening of WearSA and Magents honours local fashion and design.
