Ethiopia student unrest

ADDIS ABABA: The Ethiopian Ministry of Education has called for university students to remain calm and resume classes.

Education Minister Tilaye Gete said yesterday that several higher educational institutions had been hit by deadly unrest in the past few days.

He added that a command post co-ordinated by the central government and regional administrations had been established to restore the peace at higher educational institutions.

Conflicts between students at several universities on Sunday and Monday left three students dead and several more injured. –
