‘Wanted’ man snared
MOSCOW: Among the three neutralised militants during a counter-terrorist operation in Russia’s Dagestan Republic was the leader of the gang, who was linked to terrorism-related crimes, the Russian National Anti-terrorism Committee (NAC) said yesterday.
“As a result of the clashes, three criminals were neutralised. One of them has been preliminarily identified. According to NAC’s available information, it is one of the leaders of the gang group, Aligadzhi Khamutaev, who was put in the wanted list in 2011. He is suspected of eight murders and attack on a police convoy,” the statement read.
