Politician’s son arrested
ANCHORAGE: The elder son of former Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin was in jail on Sunday, facing assault and burglary charges in her home state of Alaska.
Track Palin, 28, appeared in state court in Palmer, Alaska, on a felony burglary charge and misdemeanour assault and criminal mischief charges. All the charges involved domestic violence, the records indicated. It is not clear whether he entered a plea.
In the past, his legal troubles have prompted his mother to question the support available for military veterans like her son, who may be suffering from post-traumatic stress.
“Given the nature of actions, the Palins are unable to comment further,” said the family’s attorney, John Tiemessen. – Reuters/African News Agency (ANA)
