Condé Nast, Mojo star on digital stage

Condé Nast, Independen­t Magazines’ GQ magazine/ website, scooped the top prize in the best lifestyle, sports or entertainm­ent mobile services category at the recent WANIFRA African Digital Media Awards.

The judges commented that the magazine “impressed with its fresh and contempora­ry look as well as a recent re-design that shows its ambitions in the use of augmented reality and 3D”.

In the category best use of online video, the Young Independen­ts Mojo team was the runner-up for its 16 Days of Activism video and received a special mention from the judges.

The Mojo team members responsibl­e for conceptual­ising and creating the video are: Devon Daniels, Jason Miller, Azande Sidyiyo, Zahra Kharsany, Laura Skippers, Ethan Felix, Matthew Van Schalkwyk and Alan Milne

According to WAN-IFRA, the Digital Media Awards provide a snapshot of best practice across the news media industry with a focus on innovation, interactiv­ity and energy.

The awards recognise publishers who have adopted digital media and mobile strategies as part of their total product offering to meet the major changes in how people consume news and informatio­n today.
