It’s not just about modelling, it’s about helping
I AM 20 years old, originally from Port Elizabeth, but residing in Cape Town and studying public relations management at CPUT. I am filled with zest and am very action-oriented.
I like using the term social butterfly to describe myself, due to my charismatic traits and the fact that I love to break any social boundaries placed upon us. I was nominated as one of the brand ambassadors for Miss Eagle South Africa 2018.
Miss Eagle South Africa is a modelling pageant that is about beauty, brilliance, empowering women and gaining leadership skills, but most importantly focusing on giving back to the community and contributing towards community upliftment.
I wasn't always interested in modelling as I had a passion for public speaking, which inspired my decision to join the debate club in high school.
This also assisted me in building my confidence, as I was known to be very quiet.
My interest in modelling was sparked after a few people had told me that I had the physical appearance of a model.
I therefore gave it a chance by entering some local pageants such as Mr and Ms CPUT and even though I never won, they were experiences that I could never forget as they helped me realise that modelling was my passion.
I became very interested in becoming one of the Miss Eagle South Africa 2018 contestants, after I read that one of their main aims is to give back to the community because I always felt the need to help others.
I became extremely interested in the competition after I realised that two of my passions, modelling and helping others, could be actualised by entering the competition.
While being a Miss Eagle South Africa contestant, I had the pleasure of working with amazing non-profit government organisations such as Women Of Hope, which is an organisation that aims to improve the living conditions of the poor, and Food For Life, which is an organisation that works towards feeding the homeless in the Western Cape.
I was intrigued by the competition as it not only focuses on beauty, but on building and improving yourself as an individual, while empowering others to do the same. Being a Miss Eagle contestant was a lot of hard work, but thanks to my amazing team I was able to make it to the next round and become a brand ambassador.
My goal is to be known, but to be known as a good person and to be able to build a legacy that will pave the way for the future generations.
In order for me to move to the semifinals next year April, it is all dependent on votes. I hope to reach the finals and the contestants will be announced in June. Voting lines will be open throughout. Facebook : Asiphe Nompozolo brand ambassador Western Cape
