Fifa trophy returns to SA

-

CAPE Town football fans will have a unique opportunity to see the Fifa World Cup trophy that will be presented to the winning country at this year’s edition of the tournament in Russia in July.

World football’s most prized asset was lifted by Spain in South Africa in 2010, and it will once again grace local shores as part of its global tour leading up to the competition in four months’ time.

As part of the tour, the Newlands cricket ground will be the centre of attraction on Saturday, when the coveted cup will be available for the Fifa World Cup Tour experience.

To continue the celebrations, Coca-Cola will stage an Anthem Concert at the venue on the same day.

Kwaito rapper Cassper Nyovest will perform the official Coca-Cola anthem, Colours, which he collaborated on with international pop star Jason Derulo.

Prior to the exclusive first performance, Jason Pascoe and Ricky Rick will take to the stage to open for Nyovest.

To be part of the concert, fans have to make their way to the various Coca-Cola brand experiences.

Today, the action will be at Promenade Mall between 10am to 4pm, as well as Kenilworth Centre tomorrow at the same times, in order for fans to get tickets to attend this weekend’s concert.

Gates to Newlands open at 10.30am and entrance is free.
