COMFORT WOMEN FURY
Protesters rally in front of the Japanese embassy in Seoul, South Korea, yesterday, demanding an apology and atonement for comfort women victims. The day marked the 99th anniversary of the March 1 Independence Movement Day when Koreans started nationwide street rallies for independence from Japanese colonial rule. Comfort women is an euphemistic term for young girls, mostly Koreans, who were forced into sexual slavery for Japanese soldiers during World War II.
