It’s a total waste

- Gustav Lindemann Tamboerskloof

WHY spend big money to name our streets and buildings after politicians? The bulk of these are as corrupt and lazy as can be.

Look at our current crop of politicians, like children and delinquents they fight among each other, they scream at each other across benches instead of finding ways to help the poor.

Are these people really deserving if having their names around for years to come? Same goes for the so-called Struggle heroes who bring nothing to the table apart from their own sense of entitlement. Don’t get me wrong we thank them for their fight against apartheid but do those credentials make them qualified to run a country?

They don’t deserve their names on our streets and buildings, neither should they have statues erected of themselves.

Our streets and buildings should be named after things that do not stir up hate or the will to demolish such.

Cape Town international should be named Protea International Airport.

No fighting between entities who think their politician/s should get the nod and more importantly it won’t marginalise those who feel their politician didn’t get the nod.

Naming our streets after nature will also result in the name not to change in 20 years’ time when there is another hopeless politician who thinks their name should be on a building instead of another politician, it will save some money out of the taxpayer’s pocket. A win-win for everyone.
