TV news sucks!

-

THE prime-time news of last Tuesday night was surely astonishing, as is the news of practically every night.

From 7pm until 7.30pm the only “news” was the everlasting protests in many different places, all over the country. Do these protesters know that there are millions of people who live on far less – like the old-age pensioners, and the SA Railways pensioners, some receiving as much as R2, yes TWO RANDS, a month, after their compulsory dues have been deducted?

Has the ANC government not yet got the message about poor or non-delivery of services?

Their talking heads have had 24 years to uplift these for their own people, yet they have failed even more dismally than their predecessors, but is this national news?

We are becoming used to, albeit with increased annoyance every evening, the “news” presented on TV.

All the flashes of their SABC News logo.

I counted one evening, during a fiveminute break, 94 flashes in all, before the news was resumed!

How many more times, must we see the president of the Congo proclaiming that he is the president of the Congo?

How many more times must we see their many reporters and announcers announcing their activities? Is all of this national news? Is this what we pay our monthly levy of nearly R900 to DStv for? It sucks!

Listening to Malema is sometimes a refreshing change… Old Granny of 94
