The upliftment from assisting the community puts our team in great light

FROM humble beginnings 25 years ago to a business still going strong, Schmidhauser Electrical & Plumbing, based in Woodstock, takes pride in being part of building a brighter future for the disadvantaged youth.

Working in partnership with SCORE, an NPO specialising in community development through sport and recreation, Schmidhauser provided maintenance and electrical upgrades for the Mbekweni and Franschhoek Valley Community Sport Centres earlier this year.

“Our 25-year journey has been challenging but occasions like this and having the power to help others is absolutely awesome. “The upgrades Schmidhauser Electrical has done for SCORE has been a rewarding experience and the upliftment from assisting the community puts our team in great light,” said Schmidhauser.

“We were very excited to be part of this NPO’s efforts, especially considering that it was for a worthy cause.

“We are also amazed at the support from the public when we undertake such social responsibilities. “It makes us proud.” Founded in Khayelitsha by US Olympic rower Juliet Thompson, SCORE’s mission is to use sport to provide the youth with the valuable skills and opportunities, while also supporting them to contribute to uplifting their own communities.

The NPO also prioritises sport activities as an accessible and powerful instrument to create social change, empowering the youth – in particular, young women – to promote gender equality.
