Family Guy, came up with this one too and stars as Captain Ed Mercer. The genre is sci-fi sitcom, and the setting is the year 2417 on board exploratory vessel The USS Orville.

Mercer’s career took a bit of a dive after his divorce but what do you know? His ex, Kelly Grayson (Adrianne Palicki), has been assigned to be his First Officer. The Star Trek- in- spired series has been renewed for a second season.

The Blacklist (M-Net 101, Tuesday at 9pm): In the season five premiere we find Reddington (James Spader) contemplating the ruins of his criminal empire, and enlisting the help of Liz (Megan Boone) to rebuild it. Season six has been inked.

Animal Kingdom (M-Net 101, Tuesday at 10pm): I love this series, which somehow retains something of an edgy underground feel to it. However, I loathe Wikipedia spoilers with the same intensity. The first sentence of the season three episode one synopsis…don’t look. We find Baz (Scott Speedman) fighting for his life after being shot while the Cody brothers seek vengeance. Smurf (Ellen Barkin) is languishing in jail and it seems as if she’ll be there a while so J (Finn Cole) pays for her protection inside. The show has been renewed for a fourth season.

At the heart of Jamestown are the women who were shipped over, their passage having been paid by the men who would take them as their wives. In the season two premiere, Alice (Sophie Rundle) gives birth to the colony’s first baby and names him Silas, despite pressure to call the boy James. It’s a complicated situation.
