Prayer for Hendricks

-

THE Gatesville Mosque will be dedicating this Friday’s prayer session to the legacy of Moulana Ehsaan Hendricks, who died last Saturday.

Moulana Hendricks was the immediate past president of the MJC and held that position with distinction over two terms.

He was a passionate fighter for the cause of human rights – particularly the plight of the Palestinian people.

He travelled the world addressing many conferences, putting this burning issue on the world stage.

The keynote speaker will be sheikh Ehsaan Taliep – rector of the Islamic Peace University of SA based in Rylands.

The Gatesville Mosque has highlighted the Palestinian cause since it’s inception and resolved many years ago to fly the Palestinian flags half mast on the roof of the Mosque until the Palestinians receive their freedom.

The Mosque has hosted many dignitaries on this issue, including Leila Khaleed, Professor Uri Davis and Professor Illan Pappi.

The Friday prayer programme commences at 12.30pm with the lecture, and everyone is welcome to attend. Sataar Parker Media Desk Gatesville Mosque
