THE GOVERNMENT was considering capping the price of 93-octane unleaded petrol, Energy Minister Jeff Radebe said yesterday.

He said the government had asked the petroleum industry for advice on what the impact would be if the government set a maximum price for 93-octane unleaded.

“We have given the industry until October 18 to respond, after which we will take an appropriate decision.”

Radebe’s comments come as protests against the high cost of fuel continue. | African News Agency (ANA)
