Magic of ‘Disney on Ice’ to make a thrilling SA return next year
THE MAGICAL moments and characters from the Disney Kingdom will visit Pretoria for the first time as Disney On Ice presents Magical Ice Festival skates back into the hearts of South African children next year.
The winter wonderland will also be revisiting Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town for its annual show.
In a new twist on the fairy tale fun, comical segments from everyone’s favourite Disney films set the scene for the show-stopping stories of princesses Ariel, Rapunzel and Belle.
Anna and Elsa from the Academy Award-winning and number one animated feature film of all time, Frozen, will make a special appearance.
Audiences will journey up the North Mountains with the hilarious snowman Olaf, rugged mountain man Kristoff, and his loyal reindeer Sven as they help the sisters along the way in a story full of action, adventure, magic and unforgettable characters.
With its enchanting mix of royalty, highlighting the stories of Disney’s most beloved heroines with energetic choreography, the show will have audiences singing, dancing and cheering their favourite characters.
Producer Juliette Feld said: “By pulling together moments from classic stories to the Academy Award-winning film Frozen and combining them with elements of comedy and music, we developed a truly unique way to retell each fairy tale.”
For the past six years, South African audiences have been thrilled by the excitement of a new Disney On Ice show every July school holiday.

Produced by Feld Entertainment and brought to the country by leading local promoter Showtime Management, Disney On Ice opens in Pretoria on June 14 at Sun Arena at Time Square, for a limited season.
Thereafter Disney On Ice returns to the Ticketpro Dome, Johannesburg from June 21 to 30 and will move to Durban’s ICC Arena from July 3 to 7. The show will end its tour at GrandWest, Cape Town from July 10 to 14.
